PC Basics Training

The price for this entire bundle is $49 for 90 days of access. Each course length is about 6 to 8 hours long.

PCs and Application Software Intro
This course is intended for end users who are looking to learn basic concepts and components of a computer. Participants will be introduced to basic features and functionality of Windows 95, software applications, e-mail and the Internet.

Introduction to PCs and Software
The goal of this course is to provide the learner with comprehensive foundational knowledge of PCs (their parts and how they work), working with Windows, MS application software, and using the Internet and E-mail. The course starts with a section on introduction to the PC that covers benefits, components, hardware and software, input and output devices, storage and general maintenance. The second section covers working with Windows XP, for example components of the Windows desktop, opening and closing applications, and managing windows and files. The third section covers the main types of MS application software: word processing, spreadsheet, database, graphics and presentation. The basics of working with MS Word are also covered. The final section of the course covers the basics of Internet technology and uses (referring to Internet Explorer 6.0). There is a lesson each on using the World Wide Web and using E-mail.

Libraries include a large number of bundles each. There are four libraries - Business & Professional, Information Technology, Internet/intranet, and Office Productivity. Together, they encompass all 200+ bundles.
