This course is intended for web developers who want to understand the fundamental concepts required for programming in Microsoft VBScript. At the completion of this course you will be able to: identify the advantages of using VBScript; identify the various values contained in a variant data type; assign a variable to an object reference in VBScript; display a message in a message box; create an input box; enter the code to execute a series of statements in VBScript; complete the code to execute a group of statements repeatedly using looping mechanism; enter the code to create and then call a Sub procedure and a function; match the variable type, date, time, string and math conversion functions with their return values; identify the scripting object model objects and their position in the object model hierarchy; use the properties, methods and events of the window object; use the properties, methods and events of the objects present in the window object; use the properties, methods and events of the objects contained in the document object; use the properties, methods and events of the element object; identify the features of the Err object for handling errors in VBScript; enter the code to perform a given set of tasks using the Err object properties; compare the features of VBScript with Visual Basic and VBA.
